Summer Food Carb Counts

Project Blue November has compiled tip sheets for holidays and special events.  Now is the perfect time to check out their Summer Time Cheat Sheet for Cookouts!  You can find it here:

Is your favorite cookout food listed here?  Do you have any tips on cutting some of the carb at cookouts?  My tip is that I drink unsweetened iced tea instead of the lemonade listed in this tip sheet.

I bring low carb foods to share such as salads.

I eat meats like hot dogs and hamburgers without buns.

I use mustard, but not ketchup.

I live near Baltimore, Md. and go to cookouts where the main course is crabs. Minimal to zero carbs  in crabs.

Wish they'd put a weight on the potato salad and watermelon--I tend to weigh things more than scoop into a half cup. The corn--on-the-cob estimate is a big help!
